SDARWS' Circuit Riders assist public and private water systems in their operational efforts to protect public health and comply with complex state and federal regulations. Funding for the Circuit Rider Program is provided through the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Rural Utilities Service and the State Revolving Fund.
To receive technical assistance under the Circuit Rider program, an entity must serve an area with a population of 10,000 or less AND be either a public body, non-profit corporation, or Indian tribe with legal authority to own and operate the water facility. Assistance is subject to SDARWS staff availability. We cannot always provide immediate assistance.

Evaluate system needs and assist with identifying corrective actions for system malfunctions and operational problems
