The Rural Water Center is a 501(c)3 division of the South Dakota Association of Rural Water Systems.
Dear South Dakota Rural Water Center Supporter,
I hope this letter finds you well. I am writing to request your kind consideration for a donation to the South Dakota Rural Water Center (RWC). This vital organization plays a crucial role in ensuring the well-being and prosperity of the rural water industry in our state. The RWC is dedicated to serving our communities through its commitment to four essential pillars of activity:
Emergency Response & Technical Assistance.
Education.
Project Development.
Research & Development.
These pillars encompass a broad range of initiatives to address the unique challenges rural areas face and the water systems that serve these areas.
We are proud to inform you that the RWC has been able to make a significant impact in the past, thanks to the generosity of our membership and associate companies. However, our organization's bank account balance has dwindled, with only $32,000 remaining. Additionally, we currently only have $4,500 at South Dakota WARN. We seek support from generous benefactors like yourselves to continue providing the necessary funds and resources for our activities.
It is important to note that the South Dakota Rural Water Center is organized under section 501(c)(3) of the IRS tax code. This classification enables private companies to claim tax deductions for cash or equipment donations, providing a mutually beneficial arrangement.
Recognizing the urgent need for support, the South Dakota Association of Rural Water Systems (SDARWS) has graciously issued a "challenge grant" of $1,000. They are encouraging other members and associates to meet or surpass this challenge, thereby maximizing the impact of their contributions.
For our members who are also borrowers of CoBank, we would like to propose a partnership opportunity through the "Sharing Success Program." Under this initiative, borrowers can donate up to $10,000 to the RWC, with CoBank offering a match donation, subject to availability and program funding. You can find more information about this program at www.cobank.com.

Your generous contributions to the South Dakota Rural Water Center will help safeguard the availability of clean and reliable water resoures for our rural communities. Together, we can make a difference and create a lasting impact on countless individuals who depend on our services.
Thank you for your time, consideration, and support. We look forward to working together to build a stronger and more resilient future for our state's rural water systems.
The Rural Water Center can accept money on a tax-free basis. If you need project assistance or have financial considerations that meet these goals, please contact the SDARWS office in Madison at 605.556.7219.
